Is this Berlin in 1936?
One of the
Nuremburg Rallies, perhaps? No. Looks like it, though, doesn't it?
It's now.
March, 2016, in Bratislava, Slovakia, and it's a parade by the '
Kotleba' Slovakia Peoples Party.
Kooks and Weirdo's, right?
Except - they got
8% of the vote in the last Slovakian Election, and
gained 14 seats from nowhere. They are described as '
ultra-nationalist right-wing extremists' and are happy to be called such.
Compare their result with that of the
KDH, the moderate Christian Democratic Party, who got wiped out - losing every Parliamentary member.
The worrying aspect of this is that no-one is surprised.
Almost all nations of Europe have seen a rise in Parties espousing Extreme Nationalism, Hatred of Minorities, Supression of Rights and all the usual aspects of historical Fascism.
We have often been told, as veteran Anti-Fascists, that our battle is won, there are no more Nazis, only small groups of thugs dressing up.
No. The battle is never won. #NoPasaran.
